About

Since childhood I’ve had an interest in both art and science. I studied biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, but found I was spending most of my time with a newly purchased Hi-8 video camera and video switcher. After two years at UCSC I changed majors and enrolled at Ohio University, where my father was a mathematics professor. At OU I studied video production and photography and have incorporated my love of art with science and technology ever since.

Not long after graduating from OU I was fortunate to start as an online editor using a Sony switcher and edit controller. This trained me on broadcast standards. The online process required a great deal of thought and precision, and the skills I developed then proved to be invaluable throughout my career.
